Minneapolis (July 8, 2011) – Anderson Builders and KM Building Company, led by Greg Anderson and Steven Faber, respectively, have joined with senior-level real estate and construction executives Kent M. Carlson and Arne Cook to form a new firm, Anderson-KM Builders. Carlson formerly was a senior executive with Ryan Companies. Cook is a real estate development consultant who held senior management positions with CSM Corporation, First Industrial Realty Trust and The Opus Group.
The four partners established Anderson-KM to provide comprehensive building and development services to clients. The move anticipates a commercial real estate recovery fueled by customers requesting integrated solutions to building and real estate needs. Anderson-KM will also develop a real estate portfolio in value-added opportunities and new development. The firm’s growth objective is an annual value of $100 million over the next three to five years.
“As the commercial real estate market recovers,” said Anderson-KM CEO Kent Carlson, “our commercial building and real estate platform will be attractive to clients who face changing facility needs and want to consider a wide range of options.” Noting that Anderson-KM partners and employees enjoy strong working relationships with Twin Cities brokerage professionals and design firms, Carlson said the organization looks forward to enhancing strategic alliances.
In addition to the four partners’ complementary skills and experience, Anderson-KM comprehensive building and development services will leverage two teams of experienced construction professionals, access to capital and lease options.
“The Anderson-KM focus is to support clients with experience, expertise and flexibility,” said Carlson. “As customer businesses grow, they will absorb the existing inventory of properties that require renovation and reconstruction because requirements changed during the inactive market. As growth continues, they may also look at new construction to replace functionally obsolete facilities.”
The new Anderson-KM platform supports clients with a broad portfolio of strategic, aligned construction and development services across a wide range of property categories.
